Free legal advice surgery heads to town
Residents of Sharlston are invited to a free legal advice surgery.
Legal experts from Raleys Solicitors will be at Sharlston Welfare and Sports Club, High Street, on Monday 8 March from noon-3pm. Regular surgeries will be held at the same time on the second Monday of every month.
People will be able to speak to solicitors about a wide range of issues, including what to do in the event of an accident at home, work or in a car, how to make a will or how to start a compensation claim for occupational illness – whatever questions people want to ask. The initial consultation is completely free of charge.
Barnsley-based Raleys Solicitors has worked with the Yorkshire Area NUM to organise regular one-to-one advice sessions in Yorkshire’s mining communities. Miners past and present are welcome, along with their family, friends and neighbours.
Debra Allen, from Raleys, said: “These regular sessions aim to offer open, honest and straightforward advice on any area of law to members of the whole community, so although we’re organising the surgeries with the Yorkshire Area NUM, they are open to all, including non-union members and local residents.”
There is no charge for initial consultations at any session and no appointment is necessary. Contact your local NUM representative for more information. Debra Allen is available on 01226 603 207 for non-union enquiries.
