Legal advice is free for Goldthorpe residents
Free legal advice on everything from accidents to will writing is being offered to Goldthorpe residents.
A special surgery is being held by Barnsley firm, Raleys Solicitors, which will offer a free consultation on any legal issues residents want to raise.
Whether it is about what to do in the event of an accident at home, work or in the car, how to make a will or how to start a compensation claim for occupational illness, the initial consultation is completely free of charge.
The next surgery takes place on Friday, May 7, at Dearne Enterprise Centre, Barnburgh Lane, Goldthorpe, 10am-2pm. Regular surgeries are scheduled for the first Friday of every month and no appointment is necessary.
Raleys Solicitors has worked with the Yorkshire Area NUM to organise regular one-to-one advice sessions in South Yorkshire’s mining communities. Miners past and present are welcome, along with family, friends and neighbours.
Debra Allen, of Raleys, who is co-ordinating the surgeries said they had been very popular. “These regular workshops are a great opportunity for people to come along and seek advice on any kind of legal matter. Our aim to offer open, honest and straightforward advice on any area of the law to members of the whole community.”
Local NUM members can contact Joe Gaskill on 01709 881 181 for more information about the surgeries. For non-union enquiries contact Debra Allen on 01226 603207.
